I'm approaching my one year Spark anniversary. I had a higher weight loss goal than 20 lbs for a year but I did lose 20 lbs and it's still off so that is good. I will focus on that. Even if I don't lose any weight this next year and I keep off what I've lost I'm pleased.
I have learned a lot this year and that is perhaps even more valuable. I look for the non-scale victories and I have actually formed some new habits. I need to exercise every day, I actually crave it. I won't eat breakfast without it. My exercise is a beach walk with my doggie weather permitting or a 10 minute toning video with Coach Nicole which I bought and use almost daily. My water intake is higher and I've found ways to make it interesting with either a nice goblet with ice cubes or a bottle with Crystal Light. I love my fruit and yogurt breakfast or a smoothie or flax one minute muffin.
I do feel leaner and healthier. I'm reading more about healthy choices and I've found that you crave what you've been eating so I need to stop bad habits and keep the new ones. I'm also learning that God created us humans to have cravings. He meant for us to crave Him and we get distracted with craving for food, money, success, fame, drugs and so I'm making an effort in prayer and thinking of Him more in times of need and tap into that Higher Power available to me if only I reach for it.
I've re-dedicated my motivation to this next year and would like to make this blog a daily accountable reflection of my day and my choices.
I've gone down a size and I've made some pretty cool friends on Spark people.
