Sleep patterns...

The one thing I really dislike about my job... Okay, ONE of the things I really dislike about my job (LOL!) is the fact that it disrupts my sleep patterns. Typically, I am working third shifts, which can be anywhere from 9pm-6am to 12 midnight-9 am. Trying to sleep when I get off work, when it is daylight and the sun is shining, is difficult. Then, toss in a day (night?) off... I'll get off work that morning, but try to stay up in the morning, to enjoy the daylight hours of my "day off." That way, when the family goes to bed at 9pm, I'm able to go with them.

This week, I worked 4 nights in a row, had a day off, then worked a day shift before having another day off... So I've slept at night for three days in a row, Woo Hoo! Now, it's time to work three nights in a row again... And guess who really wants to go crawl into bed??? ME!!! UGH!!!

This constant bouncing back and forth is affecting my mood and my diet... I really need a new job...

    Those kinds of shifts are so hard. I remember when my husband first started as a dispatcher with the police department how hard it was. one week he worked 7-3 next it was 3-11 then 11-7. It was a killer. Much easier when he became an officer and they had the same shift for a month. though he never did like the midnights. Do you have room dark shades?. Those really helped at our house.
