Day 2 of the 5K MY way...

The first day I went out when it was very warm. Not so this time! Warm base layers and a wind-breaker were required today. Not to worry - with my ears covered, sunglasses on and my new shoes, I was set!

Intervals were a bit difficult to remember on my watch. I can't use my phone - too bulky and heavy. Plus, I don't want to carry it. I strap it to my back in my Nathan belt. It's there if I need it but I don't have to worry about it if I don't. The watch works fine until my Gymboss comes in the mail - SO EXCITED!

Now to the running.... emoticon I'm hoping the fact that I struggled today was based on 1) the severe winds; 2) the high altitude (compared to my home town); or 3) the increased exercise running me down a bit this week. I didn't get my 8 hours of sleep last night like I should have. I'm sure that's part of it. Plus my left eye is twitching like crazy!

The best part about this whole thing so far? I love tracking my exercise and getting points for it! It doesn't seem easy when I'm in the middle of the workout, but the end is very rewarding. Now I need to find a local 5K for some time in June as a goal. That shouldn't be hard to find.

On to tomorrow. Cross-train day will probably be a stint on the rowing machine, which is probably good since it's only supposed to get up to 52 degrees!
