Glasses

Monday, April 29, 2013

The temple of my glasses broke off yesterday, which meant a trip to get them fixed today.
The first thing I was asked was if I had bought the insurance on them. I had not, so my heart sunk. The clerk then said I would have to buy a whole new frame as they did not sell just a temple.
I asked her if she could look at it to see if it was repairable. It was! She did tell me it was a 'temporary' fix. Fortune was with me as there was 'No charge'!

Whenever i brake anything on my glasses, be it nose piece or wing, i always go to Lenscrafters to get them fixed. they have never charged me anything for the work, and i didn't buy my glasses there.

Wow! That was good fortune. Did you ask her how much insurance would be on them? I didn't even know you could purchase insurance on glasses! I think I will give my optical person a call where I get my glasses from and ask them if they sell insurance for glasses and how much it costs. You never know! Hope you have a great week!

I worked for an optometrist back in the 70s. We did sell temples them, and there was no such thing as insurance. Progress!....?

I don't like insurance either, but what are you going to do.
