I was able to run!!

Monday, April 29, 2013

After having a yummy dinner, grilled chicken salad, I did my workout. Today, along with my usual walking on the treadmill, I figured I would try running. Now, I haven't ran in probably about a year and I am, by no means, a runner. I logged only 5 minutes, but it's a start. I had to stop because I had to help my daughter with her homework. But I am so happy that I was able to do it and not collapse!! I have been taking baby steps back from my back injury and it seems that it has been the right thing to do. My back is feeling great and the only pain I'm feeling is the good pain from working out. I weigh in tomorrow so I hope I have some good results. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I hope you are all having a great Monday. Thanks for reading :)

Yay for you!! Just know that if you run (no matter how far or how much time) YOU ARE A RUNNER! If you have injury or want to prevent injury I would recommend reading Galloway's Book on Running by Jeff Galloway. He promotes the idea of running until you're 100, injury free. Although I do not follow his methods myself, I have many friends that follow him. The best way to keep yourself from slacking off is to find a race & start training for it! I wish you the best with your running... Hopefully you will inspire someone else to run and keep the fire going! emoticon
