Good Friend!

Monday, April 29, 2013

I have a friend who lives in the suburbs and enjoys getting out to the edge of nowhere every now and then, so he's a semi-frequent house guest. Anyway, He told me that he had a treadmill that he bought and never used. It was taking up space in his living room -and would I like it? I never used a treadmill except to take a stress test and a five minute turn at a running analysis clinic. I almost turned it down but then checked with Judith to see if she thought she would use it. Yes she would. So yesterday Joe arrived with the goods. I ran a programed 5K and Judith experimented with the manual settings. The verdict is that with our unpredictable weather, this is a welcome addition and will not become a clothes hanger like the NordicTrack I bought in 1982 did.

Awesome! That looks like too nice a treadmill to be used as a clothes hanger!
Enjoy it! emoticon

I have a Sole F-63 which I used religiously earlier in my journey. Very infrequent use now as I prefer either getting outdoors or to the Riverwalk Athletic Center. BUT: I DO still use it now & then when either I'm so busy it's the only option left or when the weather is just too poor. I'm sure between you & DW, you'll get great use out of it!

I could use a friend like that!

My Nordic Track served the same function.... emoticon

    Good friend indeed!
It is great you have space for the treadmill, it is a good substitute for too hot / too warm weather. I hear there are some amazing applications that make treadmill runs fun (like being chased by zombies, or real life race environment simulations).
And the poor dejected treadmill found a loving home : )

    I loved my Nordic Track.
I agree that it's really helpful to have something you can do indoors when the weather is really terrible. That was a really great gift! I'll bet you'll both really be glad you have it.
