Here's the latest batch of veggie broth. So what right? Well thanks to Martha Stewart I learned how to make the broth pretty much for free.
Save all those bits and bobs of veggies ,that you would normally throw away,in Ziploc bags in the freezer. Ends of onions and the skin, shredded skin of carrots and potatoes, also herbs and veggies you know will go bad before you can use them. Don't add broccoli,asparagus like veg as they make it bitter.
Here are the frozen veggie bags. I ended up just using two bags as my Ninja slow cooker was stuffed. I used the liquid left from the pork shoulder I made. It wasn't much but why throw it out!

See all the different veggies! Carrots,potatoes,peppers,celer
y,fennel,leeks,onion etc.

Here is the broth after cooking on low overnight. I add salt and pepper now.

Now I add fresh herbs and cook using the stove top function of the Ninja Cooker

I scoop out the veggies and strain the broth too and added more water to dilute it as it was strong flavored.

It made about 13 cups of broth. Since this is free but for the energy to cook it I will use it to cook beans, poach meat and make soup!

    Another thing that you can do - let the broth cool, then scoop into medium size freezer ziplock bags. You have to store them flat. Then, when they are frozen, all you need to do to use them is to run for a few seconds under water. This is an alternative to canning, and I do it by the cup.

    That's such a great idea. I would have never thought of that. Wow, all those scraps will make a great broth and I am going to save them. Thanks so much for a fabulous idea!
