This past week, Iíve been hitting a major weight loss plateau. Iím stuck right around 147-148, and the scale isnít budging, so Iíve decide to shake things up.
Yesterday I had a huge, delicious cheat day, my first real cheat day in quite a while. But today marks Day 1 of a three day fruit fast. Thatís right: Iím only going to consume fruit for the next three days. Fruit, 64 ounces of water per day or more, and green tea sporadically.
Is this safe you ask? Yes, I assure you it is perfectly safe. Fruit contains a lot of carbohydrates and fiber, which should help to clear out my system and give me energy. This fast will be quite low on protein though, which is why Iím only doing it for three days.
I plan on only doing cardiovascular exercise, since I wonít be consuming enough protein to be ideal for efficient muscle growth. Iíve been doing a lot of the elliptical lately, and a lot of running, so to mix it up, Iíll probably do spinning, or the rowing machine.
Basically I want to clean out my body and throw it for a loop so my metabolism revs up again. This morning, when I first woke up, I stepped on a scale and it read 150, which means that I definitely gained a little bit of weight from that binge yesterday. On Thursday morning I will step on that scale yet again and hopefully it will read a pound or two less. Wish me luck!
