TOTAL OF 42 POUNDS DOWN

Monday, April 29, 2013

It has been a real battle. A couple of years ago I was down 69 pounds then gained 39 pounds back. Now lost 12 of those pounds so only 27 to be back to where I was then I can go on from there. I am so tired of this yo yo going up and down I want to get down and stay down. I am 78 pounds from my goal and I know I can get that off in a year if I really work hard.

I keep reminding myself this is for life. For life right now to be healthy and live without illness.

And also for life--meaning not just while I lose weight, but forever after, like a marriage. So as I make changes in my life for this project, I keep asking if I want to or if I will be able to sustain these choices for the rest of my life.

So far, the answers have been yes. But I insist that food taste good. Interesting that my definition of what tastes delicious has changed so drastically. And I insist that fitness activities be fun.

Oh, but you did not gain back all you lost - that really is an accomplishment if you ask me. I hope you will just keep pushing in the right direction!

Don't forget to give yourself credit for what you have done. Don't be so hard on yourself.

I certainly understand your frustration with the battle to drop pounds & keep them off. All I know is to try hard to check ourselves before that three pounds regain turns into twenty-plus. Why? Oh, why - is it so easy to regain pounds? emoticon

I've been saying the same thing to myself so it is time to get of the fence and move it.

I know just how you feel. I lost over 30 pounds only to gain it all back. It is so hard to lose weight and then gain it back only to try and lose once again but think about where we could be if we hadn't gained. Think only for this day. One day at a time. emoticon emoticon emoticon
