juice fast day 4

Feeling good again. Back in the swing of things.
My husband surprised me. Today is his third day of the fast and after so much complaining yesterday, I didn't think he would do today. I even made him an alternate lunch thinking there was no way he would do another day of juicing. He chose to finish up juicing. So I put some juice in his thermos and sent him off. I think he just wants sympathy from the guys at work, but if that is what spurs him on to continue.. then OK by me. Tomorrow he agrees to go just fresh veggies/lean protein for a while. I suppose you would call it more paleo. He has terrible GI problems so I want to start him on some probiotics.
So I had better be getting out to plant some more. I am going to have to grow a bunch of veggies this year.
I picked up some perennials on sale and want to get them in although they are saying snow again. I can't believe the weather this year. Winter just won't leave. The wildlife this year is more abundant though. I even have some pheasants back in my orchard. I can't believe with my dogs that they would chance it. Our neighbors decided to put in alfalfa across the road this year, so perhaps they decided to move. We don't cut the grass in the orchard, and I have quite a few decorative type of grasses there, so it would be a good habitat for them. I will have to think about fencing in the area. It would keep the dogs and deer out. I will have to do something with the berries. Do pheasants bother berries???? I will have to check it out.
My daughter who I have said is growing up too much wants to go tad-poling again this year. I thought she would have out grown that, but glad she hasn't. I will have to wash out the terrarium. We will go to the creek this afternoon. The bullfrogs have been making a racket the last week, so the tadpoles should be more than ready. I have a lot of frogs in my garden from previous years of raising and releasing them. I also salvaged a couple of broken pots that will make good homes for them. While over to the creek/pond we will have to check for mushrooms. It has been such a strange spring, they may still be available. I should pick up some spawn and reseed around there although there are a lot of deer there. Do deer eat mushrooms? Something I also have to check out.
Well, I had better stop writing and actually do this or there will be no garden.
