C25k - week 8

Week 8, day 1 done today, and I feel great.

The weather is 61 degrees and quite cloudy, but not raining.

Today increased the run time to 28 minutes, with the 5 minute warm up and cool down times.

I chose a point farther down the street (Byers Ridge) as the turnaround, next time I will go even beyond that.

No breathing issues, I am getting better at nose in, mouth out, and belly breathing.

Stats:
39:40 minutes
3.22 miles
4.9 avg mph
5973 fitbit steps

I notice that this is more than a 5K in total, and an avg of 4.9, and less than 40 minutes all together. Honestly, that is as good as I was expecting to do in the 5k. By the way, that 5K is very soon. I will have one more shot at this run; 2 days of recovery, and then Saturday is race day.

On Wednesday, I would like to try to figure out just how much of it is run, vs walking.

My plan on the 5K is to do it just I like I do this. The first five minutes will be a walking warmup. Then I will kick into jogging, and hopefully I will jog until I cross the finish line. Then I will walk for a bit more as a cool down. What do others think or do?

    You're doing so well you're an inspiration! My goal is to run my 5K under 40 minutes but I'm so slow I'm not sure it's possible.
