Exercise Update

Monday, April 29, 2013

Last week, I posted my weekly exercise plan for the first time ever. This week, I'm going to update on how last week went, and then post this week's!

This was last week's plan:
Sunday: Cardio - Treadmill 40 min Strength - Crunches Circuit Other - None
Monday: Cardio - Treadmill 40 min Strength - Crunches Circuit, Arms Other - Yoga 10 min
Tuesday: Cardio/Strength - Ballet Class 60 min
Wednesday: Cardio - Treadmill 40 min Strength - Crunches Circuit, Arms Other - None
Thursday: Cardio - Treadmill 40 min Strength/Other - Ballet Class 60 min
Friday: Cardio - Treadmill 40 min Strength - None Other - Yoga 20 min
Saturday: None

Overall, I stuck to this pretty well! The only thing I didn't complete was Friday's Treadmill workout, and that was because packing for the family trip took longer than I expected, so I couldn't get to the gym. I also couldn't get to the gym Monday, so I went walking and jogging at the park near my house instead!

I do think having them posted helped provide an extra little push when I didn't necessarily want to go, so I'm going to continue doing that. I'm also going to take down the intensity a little this week to give my body a chance to recover from the ballet workshop stuff I'm doing. Especially with the low carb switch, I do want to give my body a chance to recover and adapt to workouts with a different fuel. I'm also pretty glad that this is the last week of the ballet workshop because, while I love dancing and love the classes, I also think it might be over-doing it a little for where my body is right now.

Without further ado, here's my new workout schedule:

Sunday: Strength - Crunches Circuit Other - Yoga 10 min
Monday: Cardio - Treadmill 40 min Strength - Crunches Circuit, Arms Other - Yoga 10 min
Tuesday: Cardio/Strength - Ballet Class 60 min
Wednesday: Cardio - Treadmill 40 min Strength - Crunches Circuit, Arms Other - Yoga 10 min
Thursday: Cardio - Treadmill 40 min Strength/Other - Ballet Class 60 min
Friday: Cardio - Treadmill 40 min Strength - None Other - Yoga 20 min
Saturday: None

I love that you're putting them out here! I could see how having a solid plan would help with accountability. I should take heed. I have scheduled exercise times in my calendar with what I should do (including reminders so I know when it's close to time, etc.) but the problem I have is that my schedule sometimes has to change suddenly. I really should make a weekly plan WITH ALTERNATIVES to get through the week. That way, if I can't make my booked time, I at least have a backup plan!

Anyway, I'm so thrilled that your exercise plan is working and that you're feeling good on low carb! I'm excited because I have been sticking to my diet pretty well, despite limited groceries in the house. :) How's that for an accomplishment? Heh.
