this should be my DS last week in the Army

Monday, April 29, 2013

Good Morning; I am praying that this week goes smoothly with my son and the Army. This past week, he came out of his depression and realized he has a future.
It came from support from a Navy veteran he was told to contact for support. the Navy vet had the same back surgery and gave my DS guidance. I saw and heard this hope on his face and in his voice. The vet told my DS that education is the key and he has to work with VA on other issues. I believe in miracles. We will see how it plays out but what these soldiers need is other vets to give them advice b/c they can understand what they are going through. There has to be support groups. We just have to find them. If any one has any information, let me know. emoticon Going to the gym this morning! Have a good day! DD did a marathon this past weekend with her hubby. She sure has motivation.

KRICKET suggested what I was going to in re: checking with the VA

I wish your DS nothing but the absolute best -- he deserves it! Hope this week is uneventful for him and then he'll be DONE. That's great that he's found a vet to advise him and who understands.

As for your DD -- WOW! That's fantastic! What a great example for Adrienne! Your DD will need those marathon skills to keep up w/Adrienne when she starts walking!

HUGS and glad for the update.

Good luck finding the support groups. They are there for those who know where to look. Check with the VA, they should have a list or at least a starting point.
