Training for the Forest Society was a great experience. We stayed right on Ossipee Lake, and I walked part way around the lake each day.
Since most of the homes on the lake are summer cottages, the lake was placid while we were there. I didn't even see one fisherman.
Early morning is my favorite time to walk. No one else was up and about except for me. I had time to pray and to meditate on God's goodness in my life.
I also walked at night as the moon was coming up, but by far, my favorite walks are early in the morning. Seeing the sun rise sets me in a place of hope for my day.
