My Precious! (weekend recap)

Sunday, April 28, 2013

No, I am not talking about this one!

I am talking about what makes me truly happy - my family! (ok sometimes they make me cry too ... however when you keep this quote in mind: "Happiness is enjoying what you have - not what you want. ~ Chinese cookie", I have to admit that I am blessed.) So let's recap what I had this weekend!

First, my birdies are gone (we had to give them away). I enjoyed their company, I will miss them but it is better this way.

Yesterday I started my day with my yoga routine and a nice breakfast. We went Toronto for the day; Maggie had a cosplay event at the library, so Jeff and I went for a walk downtown at the market. I love the market... and walking holding hands!
I took a few pictures of her when we came back. Here is a cute one!

We had dinner at a Lebanese corner restaurant - falafel pita with hummus, fresh veggies and taboule salad. It was really good! (difficult to track with accuracy!) and we went to the movie ("The Colony" - did not enjoy at all, not my style!).

Today was pretty good. I started the day with 11k run - DIFFICULT emoticon
ok... not as difficult as this one!

This is a picture of Emma (my 17yo) after one of her run... (sometimes she is a pain but she also makes me very proud... I think living apart is helping us having a good relationship, we talk often and I think we can encourage each other!) Gotta enjoy what you have, not what you want!!! I wanted better time ... I enjoy the fact that I had 53 min by myself, outside (weather was really nice) and I was happy the ear the birds signing! I was also happy to complete my run - I thought of giving up after 4k!)... The rest of the day was weekend chores and a visit to the garden center - love this place too! I am happy that the house is clean and I am ready for another streak week...

Tomorrow I am starting week 3 of my "In Range" streak. I am revising my goal for this week - change of plans (I am switching my no process - because it would be too inconvenient for the rest of the family - to no sweets, low fat/ho have healthy fat and NO JUNK, I will try my best not to have no process food but I won't make a fuss with the meals that my DH will cook for us!)

Streak recap; I did ok this weekend/ week. My goal this week was to stay in range and to be mindful of fat. I did not intent to cut fat completely, just stay away from the "bad" fat and be in the lower range... I reached my goal.

I also wanted to keep going with staying away from sugar, because I know that once I give in to my craving I have a hard time having just one piece - especially chocolate! I said no all week to all kind of sweets... except yesterday: I had a small soft vanilla ice cream cone. emoticon I was so tempted to get more after that (I was craving cookies, chocolate and more...) but I resisted - actually, there was no sweets handy !

Speaking of chocolate, I am really tempted to sign up for the 10 miles Chocolate Race coming in St-Catherines (ON) May 12... on mother's day - the end of my streak! That could be a good reward (the after run snack include chocolate treats... ) and it would be a good confidence run before my championship on 25 May...

It sounds like a great week-end other than the movie. I am proud of you for hitting your goals and setting realistic ones going forward. Sometimes it is hard to hit every goal but it looks like you are realistic about them.
