Two Weeks Until The Delaware Half Marathon...

Sunday, April 28, 2013

I got a lot of nice runs this week in California. My parents popped in for a surprise for this weekend- it put my long run on hold til tomorrow morning... Funny how life can do that!! I am going to get up early, bundle up and go for it in the morning. I want to get 10 miles in and then head into work. I got caught up at work earlier today so I won't feel stressed about going in a little late.

My husband and I are trying to figure out our California schedule. My son filed a "peace order" against his ex last Friday in Maryland. The sheriff had to send it to Delaware (where she lives). We are hoping the Delaware police serve her so she has to go to the second hearing this Friday. Her boss is going to bring a copy to work and say it was served there. My son has to attend the hearing and will fly back to California Saturday. So much drama!

So, now our schedules are thrown off. Not sure which one of us is going next and when. We have the De Marathon and other events thrown throughout May.

I am just gonna have to keep taking this challenge one step at a time!

You are an amazing person. I hope your son is watching you and sees that, come what may, you meet the challenges head on. I think you will see a huge change in him once the ex is dealt with.

Just recently, my nephew was lying on train tracks near his parents' house. They have a restraining order against him. He is bipolar, but when he doesn't take his medication, he resorts to drugs and alcohol and violence. He was hit by a freight train and pushed 100' down the tracks. He was taken to shock trauma in Baltimore, but he had no amputations. The paper said he had internal injuries, but he was out of the hospital in three days.

You're so wise to take the challenge one step at a time. You don't need to be overwhelmed by the bit picture right now.

Hope the drama ends soon for your son so he can focus on his own healing without the worries and extra stress of the ex.

Life is doing it's best to beat you down but you just roll with the punches and show life who's boss. Way to go, keep up the hard work.

So sorry that your son still has to deal with such drama, but what I admire about both of you is that you have the tenacity and support TO deal with it!

10 miles before work? You're a rockin' goddess!

I'm sorry your son has so much trouble with his ex, on top of everything else.
You are fantastic, following your HM training plan and managing the difficult situations so well.
