It's hard to believe that a year has past since I've reached my goal weight. I have had some bad days but more good & I've learned there's hope in each new day & worth every minute.
The day I found Sparkpeople is the day my life changed. I believe that it has saved my life. In Sept. 2010 I was a very unhappy & unhealthy when I read an article in a woman's magazine how a woman had lost weight by going on a website.
This is me at my starting weight of 250 lbs. & only 5'2".
I love to track my food so it was fun to go on the site & see how many more calories I could eat. I took it slow - only lost 1 to 1&1/2 lb. a week. I made sure I had a snack between each meal & before I went to bed. I had been doing some aquasizing already, but I bought myself a recumbent bike. Now I'm trying to walk everyday. Exercise is fun because I can move so much better & faster. It's amazing how much more energy a person has. I'm sure there are still some of my so called "friends" who are just waiting for me to slip up & start gaining it back, but it only makes me watch even closer.
I usually have a treat a day - I don't cheat - I treat myself , as long it is in my calorie range. I love my fruit & vegetables & try to get as many as I can in a day as well as 8 or more glasses of water. My hair seems to be thicker, my skin is clear , my blood pressure is in normal range & I've been able to cut my cholesterol pill in half. The best part is the compliments & how that makes you feel so much better about yourself.
