My First Spark Challenge

Sunday, April 28, 2013

emoticon Even though it feels like it sucks up a lot of my time sometimes, I still love it. I love how much I'm learning, being accountable, and a place to fire me up, but I especially love it now that I have a emoticon .

This week I got an invitation to join the 5% Spring into Summer Challenge and I ended up joining. If I needed a boost, this would be it and I like the fact that I'm travelling somewhere. Whenever my work has done a similar challenge, it really motivated me. Well, my activity for today is to plan my meals for tomorrow. I was going to do it for the week, but I couldn't get all the dry eraser off of the wipe board I had and then when I was like screw it and write it down any ways, I couldn't read what I was writing, but it's a great idea! I think since my Sundays are generally lazy, this would be a great day to plan my week. I'm thinking of getting a weekly planner next year just so I can do that! But for now, I'm going to devote some time today to figure out what I plan on having tomorrow and maybe get some stuff ready so all I have to do is assemble in the morning. Not much thinking necessary.

Thanks again Sumthingspecial for the invite!

I know it's tough to do the meal planning but it makes it easier to plan your 'calories'.

Let's get our 5%!

I decided to do my meal planning in a spreadsheet and it's working out good and you are right! It's more time on the front end, but my lunch was made at like 4A and my daughter's was soon behind so now I'm sitting here enjoying my breakfast because I didn't have to think about what to make! This is the longest it's taken me to eat my breakfast and that I think is awesome! I'm having oatmeal with dried cranberries, 1 t of I Can't Believe it's not butter, and 2 t brown sugar with 1 c milk. Feeling very satisfied and I already have a fruit serving in my day!

It may seem like it takes a long time but in the end I think that it is a real time saver! I have just started planning my meals ahead and it is working out great! Here's wishing you good luck!

I may have invited you - but you are already Sparking me right back! I have been wanting to plan our meals weekly, and never have. I get tired (translate to lazy) on the weekends and never get it started.

We eat healthy - but it takes a lot more time and effort if you don't plan ahead. So, after you - I am going to plan for this week.

Being a member of a team is already paying off! Thanks for sharing!

Sumay
