I have the Body Media Fit Core and I wear faithfully every day, I have wonder at time and even read the Q & A section of the BM web site searching for answers......
This is what baffles me, I exercise either on the treadmill or stationary bike and on Saturdays two of my Spark friends and I walk 4 miles at the trail.....my BM records the steps, the sleep up to the seconds but never records my warm ups or cool downs, is almost like those 10 minutes does not count at all. Also unless I'm jogging in the treadmill I do not get the vigorous minutes recorded, since BM is now sync with SP I started noticing as I was not truly adding all of my minutes to SP fitness tracker but at the same time I didn't want to duplicate my workouts.
I have incorporated hand weights to my exercise and this is what I found.
Last Saturday (4/27/13) we walked 4 miles in 73 minutes I took my 1 Lb each hand weight. My BM recorded total activity 45 minutes, 21 of them moderate and 25 minutes of vigorous exercise.
Today I did a section in my treadmill, I walked the 4 miles in 71.5, I increased from 1 Lb to 2 Lbs weights in each hand, my BM recorded total activity of 52 minutes 4 minutes moderate and 48 minutes vigorous.
By my treadmill I did:
2 minutes at 2 which translate to 30 paces
3 minutes at 2.5 = to 24 paces
10 minutes at 3 = to 20 paces
56.5 minutes at 3.5 = to 17 paces
I learned; by adding the weights I create a vigorous activity but where are my minutes going?
I'm confused by all the numbers and avenues I used to get information but I will keep moving....I'm seeing results so why worry.
