WE CAN HAVE A TRUE FRIEND
We do have the option to choose our friends. When we choose ungodly people to spend time with, we are going to find ourselves soon going down the wrong path. However, if we choose godly people to spend time with, we are going to learn about how to better walk with Jesus. We will see how great God is working in their lives and we will want a close personal relationship with Him as well. God wants us to choose godly friends who know His will and His word so we will be strengthened by Him as well.
Proverbs 3:31-32 “Don’t envy violent people or copy their ways. Such wicked people are detestable to the LORD, but he offers his friendship to the godly.” (NLT)
Dear Lord, we know there are people in the world who are not about You at all. We know there are people who enjoy stirring up things and treating others badly. Help us to choose the godly as our true friends knowing that those who are wicked will only bring destruction. The only things we can learn from the wicked are evil things. Help us to pick godly true friends so we can know You better and we can be a godly example to others. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
A true friend is one who will help us to do what we should be doing rather than take us down a path of destruction.
When someone wants to do us harm or encourages us to do wrong, we should turn to the godly to help us.
A true godly friend is one who will help us and show us God’s way rather than man’s way.
Knowing that we can choose our friends should make us realize that there are choices out there.
When we find ourselves going down the wrong path, we need to look around and see who led us there.
Proverbs 12:26 “The godly give good advice to their friends; the wicked lead them astray.” (NLT)
