Not the Challenge I had hoped for

Sunday, April 28, 2013

Today I decided I would do some more training for Mud on the Mountain. I had my boyfriend take me to the end of the road, and I walked home.

I thought that this was going to be a HUGE challenge for me. It is up and down a lot of BIG hills. (Hopefully, I will be able get some pictures and post them so you can see these hills)

When I started it was 3:30. I told my boyfriend if I wasn't home by 5 to come look for me. I made it home by 3:50. 1.3 miles in about 20 mins. I thought that these hills would be awesome. I was expecting my legs to be on fire within the first five mins... that didn't happen. By the time I was at the top of the second hill, I was a little out of breath, but that is about it.

I was very disappointed.

I am thinking tomorrow I am either going to go to the gym or walk from my house, to the end of the road and back. I guess I am fitter than I thought!

When I got back 20 mins later my boyfriend looked at me and said "What took you so long"? Then started laughing. He was quite impressed that I made such good time. I always run the last part home. I noticed today that it was a lot easier to run it. I wasn't even panting by the time I got to the door! I said to my boyfriend.. "Admit it, there is nothing sexier than seeing me run down the road in this cute little spandex top" to which he replied... "I can think of a lot of things that are sexier"

By the end of the conversation, I was busting my guts laughing!

I think that is all for now

I think it is time for you to start Spark's run walk program up those hills. And it sounds like you will have to do them twice?
See, you are an athlete!
