My Family In The Woods
Saturday, April 27, 2013
We had a lovely hike today (except for the parts when my husband went mental because despite me telling him that we didn't have time for the hike he wanted to take he insisted we did anyway and then had a fit when he thought he wasn't going to make his appointment at 1PM, although I intuited a woods road we passed would take us back to our starting point sooner and managed to save the day. Deep breath. Was that a bit of a run on sentence there? I'm not bitter. I swear!). As I was saying, a lovely hike through the woods with my husband and lovely children. Tristan didn't complain too much about doing the first half of the walk on his own too legs. And we had lunch by the most beautiful crystal blue lake you could possibly picture when you imagine paradise. It was a good two hours of pristine wilderness and bird song and wondering how our second son could possibly manage to climb up to the top of very steep hills while talking so incessantly that we wondered when he found time to breath. We are going back on the same hike tomorrow so we can spend a little longer by the lake and finish the circuit we wanted to complete today.
Then it was to a dear family friends house for dinner. This was a challenge as she wanted us to eat pizza, but we managed to do something a little different and I think that we didn't do too badly.
Now for sleeeeeep. The baby has just started crying :(
