Wonderful Saturday!

Saturday, April 27, 2013

Some days are just better than others! This morning, I had breakfast with my BGF at a place Bobbi Anne would love - Mel's Diner, here in Sanford, FL. It's always great to catch up over good coffee!

I got home around 11:45, dressed in shorts and mowed the lawn. This has to be my favorite time of day - Love the way the light plays!

I think Clarice is trying to catch that little rat snake that lives in the rocks around my koi pond!

Such a silly girl!

Dweezle enjoying the evening!

And fertilized the garden.

And trimmed the front hedges. And raked leaves out front. Whew!

Tomorrow I'll be raking leaves, cleaning off the patio (more leaves!!), and trimming the back shrubs.....It never ends!

After that, I went grocery shopping - didn't even get a good night kiss, either! Geeze, have the grocery prices gone up! Another thing to thank our current President for. Last year at this time, I was feeding 4 adults for $85 per week. Today, I spent $95 for 2 adults, and have been averaging around $125!! And people wonder why I garden, can and want chickens in my yard!

Tonight I marinated chicken breasts in lemon juice, garlic, fresh rosemary and olive oil; grilled them, and served them with a salad and fettuccine pasta with just a touch of butter and fresh grated asiago cheese - Yum! Topped it off with a glass of chilled Pino Griggio, and a whirlpool bath! No pictures of that, LOL! Don't want to scare anyone!

I do look tired tonight, but it's a good tired!

Bet I sleep well tonight!!

Food prices are high here in Canada as well and I think that has little to do with the current administration in the U.S. It has more to do with how we humans have polluted the world to such a point that the weather systems are very erratic world-wide which makes it harder to grow food. You can also blame the oil companies (who charge a lot for their product which means transport costs go up which is reflected in the food price), and any other bodies out there who have stonewalled alternative energy sources such as wind, solar and electrical power.
