What a difference!

Saturday, April 27, 2013

I have made it to my wildlife sanctuary 3 times this week. Yesterday I did my normal routine, finding two snakes along the way. One was a garter snake and the other one I'm not sure. He was crabby though, then again I was trying to play with him.

Anyway, my husband and I went this afternoon hoping to feed the birds and chipmunks. Saw one chippy and many ducks and geese, but nobody was hungry. Gives us an excuse to go again soon. The problem is, it wore me out. I guess I'm not used to outdoor walking after the winter. That, and old shoes, and the slight tinge of sciatica I am still dealing with, left me quite sore and unmotivated.

It was still a good day, but made me realize I need to do something different next winter.

I am working on my own pattern for a knit baby bib I plan on adding to my Etsy stuff. It's a combination of two patterns so it isn't completely original, but it's a start with my first design.

You're getting back to your walks after about 6 months of not doing it - you definitely need to start slowly and build your stamina back up again. But now's a great time to start researching what you can do next winter.
