A RUNNING BUG!
I thought doing 2 5k races in 2 consecutive weekends would wear me out and make me want to rest a ton....I was wrong.
All I want to do is race. I get so nervous but when it all comes down to it I get in there, do my best and honestly I amaze myself at how much endurance my body is building and how strong I am getting.
Today I ran 3.1 miles in 32:52. Sure its not as fast as most people, but it meant the world to me. I was shooting for 33 minutes and I not only made it but I made it 8 seconds faster than I had aimed for. Two months ago it would take 45 minutes for me to do that same distance. I feel like I'm just getting better and better.
I am trying to remind myself to enjoy my training and keep aiming for farther distances so I can be ready for my half marathon in November. I am by no means giving up on that dream but I honestly am in love with 5ks. Maybe I'll find a distance I like more as I train but for right now....5ks are my passion and I can't wait to see where this all goes.
