It was an interesting day:) It was a little too intense for me to be honest. I was not prepared and I don't think any of us felt comfortable. I decided not to participate in the weight challenges. I did not feel prepared for those events with the requirements they were asking. Lifting way too heavy and not really focusing on form...not for me.
So I did the endurance part:)
*40 second dash: 6 seconds....no clue if this is a good time or not. Considering we were running in grass, something else I never do, I thought I did pretty well.
*3 minutes of burpees: 46...yeah that sucked. Oh well I am sure the 17 miles of biking I did prior to this had something to do with it. My hamstrings seized:) I really like burpees too so I was kinda bummed about how low my number was.
*#30KB swings, 25 #12 wall balls, 30 power slams: 3:11. Pretty quick for how slowly I was moving:)
*ladder, hurdles, and 30 jumps with jump rope...no clue on time. Got messed up on the jump rope once so that took a second for me to get back into the groove.
All of the above was done after standing around for 4 hours cheering the heavy lifters on. I hope something gives for next year and planning is done a little differently. The endurance part really should have been before the weights. That way people could have warmed up and been ready to go...if they are doing all the events, then there would be no reason to warm up. They would already be set. I would also have liked more preparation as far as the lifting goes. I think we should have had time to practice the heavier weights instead of just showing up and being expected to lift them....oh well. At least it was for a good cause.
