Things got a little crazy around here and I didn't get my blogs written.
Bob Harper's "The Skinny Rules" Meal Plan Week 2
Week 2's Meal plan was not terribly different than Week 1. In week 2, we get some new recipes, and we eat a little less yogurt. We get bananas now. We get more freedom to choose our own vegetables. I liked most of it but not the Yam Hashbrowns. Am wondering if that recipe can be improved upon with some cinnamon and / or nutmeg with a dash of cayenne.
Week 3 add in more complex recipes. The options often combine more ingredients than the previous week. The Yogurt is about 1/2 of what it was in Week 1. I'm beginning to wonder if Week 1 was a bit of a detox. Snacking on more bell peppers now, which I like.
I am seeing results with this meal plan. I have made occasional substitutions due to availability of ingredients, or the need to polish off leftovers. Many of his recipes make multiple servings. All of my substitutions have been items on the plan. When I make a substitution, I make sure to choose a similar item, e.g. swap broccoli for asparagus.
I've definitely enjoyed some foods and will be adopting the principles after the 4 weeks.
