Today was the first time in 2 years that I walked in memory of my daughter Alicia Jean and surprisingly, I had a good time and didn't get emotional once. I was able to be happy and proud for the babies and families that survived prematurity and compassion for the families who also lost babies. I was in great spirits with great friends and my brother, sister and niece.
This is our team shirt as sported by my sister Sie.
Co-workers Tricia and Jennifer supported the cause and raised money on behalf of the cause.
And then it gets crazy . . . .
My niece even wore her pedometer and walked the whole course! She put in nearly 7,000 steps!
My niece and Alicia were only 3 weeks apart and spent 5 days of the week together. Andrialynn still remembers her cousin. She wouldn't smile for the camera and then I told her the picture was for her cousin Alicia and she put smiled for us. Here she is with my brother Blair.
It is still nice outside so I intend to go for a long walk later. I have been extremely exhausted lately to the point that yesterday evening I literally could not stand up straight. I felt weak and had pain in my abdomen. They sent me home from work because they said I looked horrible. I was in bed by 8. Of course I was worried because the walk was early in the morning. Thankfully, God gave me the energy and spirit I needed to get through it feeling awesome. I can say that I now feel tired and weak again so I am laying down. I may take a nap. My colleague said she went through the same thing when she was on the road for months and she suggested I talk to my boss like she did and ask for a travelling break. But I am already scheduled on the road for two weeks in May and once in June. I will just have to be honest because I am going to drop dead at this pace.
I hope to spend more time on Spark supporting my peeps. Thank you for being there for me Sparklers!
