it's a conspiracy

Saturday, April 27, 2013

I've decided that there is a two prong conspiracy in our culture, and I am renouncing it thoroughly. First, I have decided that the media cultural really wants us to be fat and unhappy about it. See, everywhere I turn during the day, I get bombarded with images of fat for you, really unhealthy food that the media tells me I have to eat NOW in Large glutinous quantities. Rarely do I see an billboard for organic broccoli, lightly steamed with some garlic. It's a supersize me world with lattes, chocolate, fried food. The second prong of the conspiracy I found in a Coach Dean article... " Imagine that your negative body image isn’t really yours. Imagine someone else planted it in your head to keep you trapped in an endless quest for a better body. Imagine who this "someone else" is and why they’ve done this. You could imagine, for example, that a secret group of very rich and powerful people use the media, fashion and advertising industries to convince people that they need to be thin, hard-bodied, and youthful to be happy, so they’ll keep buying diet books, magazines and gimmicks." So the group wants us to be fat, filled with cholesterol and diabetic while wanting to not see the results of our food filled, couch planted lifestyle. Wanting to be thin, young, model ready.

I denounce this! I want a spark filled life. Full of health, energy, vitality.. and I am getting there with the help of my Spark community. It's not about getting into that little black dress, it's about getting good blood sugar control without big pharma, it' about having the energy to meet the demands of a busy, vital, work and family filled life. today, I am doing it. Listening to old rock and roll, doing house chores, drinking water and planning my healthy life...That's a plot I can commit to.

Key question. Just how did we get to a place where about 2/3 of the country is overweight or worse?

Great blog, and your perspective is so right on. It is not about the numbers on the scale and fitting into a certain piece of clothing but just good old fashioned health and strength and a zest for living life to the fullest with super health and energy.
