Finally Friday!

Oh dear! I had physical therapy at 10:00 this morning. Again, I slept in my chair last night. NOT doing that tonight! I didn't wake up till almost 10:30. Not only did I have to call and cancel PT, it made for a quick morning.
I had a quick Yopa (greek yogurt with granola) for breakfast. I did check in with SparkCoach and log my breakfast, but then I had to get ready for work and figure out lunch. I decided to pack a snack again and stop at Subway. I took Lucy out and headed out.
Subway wasn't near as packed and I got my sandwich...smokehouse BBQ on wheat wth spinach, onions and peppercinis. YuM! and only 380 calories. Plus I had them put enough spinach on there that it really was a vegetable serving. I also took an orange with me to have with lunch.
I did have palpitations again today, but I took an extra Klonopin (anti-anxiety) and it seemed to improve in a couple of hours. They scheduled to have my holter monitor hooked up next week but it was at the cardiac center in Omaha, so I requested they reschedule at Midlands hospital around the corner from my apartment.
I also requested they schedule my mammogram there. All my previous ones were there. Doesn't make sense to do it somewhere else. My mom had an abnormal mammogram this week, and had to turn around and have an ultrasound. They wanted to do a biopsy right then and there but she decided she wasn't ready. She will have to schedule it. My mom had lymph node cancer behind her breast in 1985, but they considered it breast cancer. God intervened and even though they thought she was full of cancer (because of the type it was and where it was located), they found nothing else and after 6 months of chemo (that she sailed through) she was given a clean bill of health and has been cancer free ever since. I used to be really good about getting my regular mammos because of Mom's history but I've slacked off the last few years so I decided it was time to get on the stick and get one scheduled.
Because of what seemed like anxiety today I thought I would just stay home and chill tonight but my Amy called and said they wanted me to join them for dinner at her husband's aunt's house. I've met Norma on several occasions but I really wanted to just stay in. But Amy begged and said Norma had grilled BBQ ribs and made homemade mac-n-cheese and had corn on the cob and biscuits. I said "Amy, you know I don't eat like that!" She told me to come on over and hang out with them and eat small portions. So, I went. I had a small helping of the mac-n-cheese and it WAS delicious...some of the best I have eaten. I had one rib and she had grilled some chicken breasts (hallelujah!), so I had one of those. I passed on the corn and the biscuits (even though they kept trying to push them on me) I thought I did really well until they set a strawberry cheesecake down in front of me. It wasn't a real one...one of those no-bake ones. I did have some. What can I say? Compared to what I could have had and what they were trying to get me to eat, I did a pretty good job. She even tried to send left-overs home with me. I already have ponsit waiting for me for tomorrow. (a noodle dish that my son-in-law's mom makes). She is back here from Cali and had to mix up a huge batch (she's Philippino) so we could all have some. I think it's actually pretty healthy. It's full of cabbage and carrots and a little pork steak along with the noodles. She also makes lumpia...Philippino egg rolls that so far I have been able to bow out of. They are so good though. They are the hit of every family get-together...with everyone.
Of course, I didn't get home till late again. No walk. We are forecasted to have a great 72 degree day tomorrow. I think I will try to fit in a couple of walks. I know I can't really 'make up for it'. But while I have a free week-end and great weather I am going to take advantage of it.
I have to turn a corner here and get moving again.
I'm going to sign on off for tonight and actually go to my bed.

    Shari, I think with all the pressure you were under you did a PERFECT job in what you chose to eat. You MUST get better sleep though, as you know. Experts say that without proper sleep we can't lose weight, either. I have said a prayer for your mom that it all will prove to be OK for her this time around. With her history you (too) ought to have routine mammograms, (OUCH!) as you know...so keep on getting them from now on too.
