Somewhere in the middle of this week, I realized just how easy living a healthy lifestyle full of activity and good food choices is -- but for me, it still requires a lot of planning and also having contingency plans on hand for when things don't go according to plan -- AND it requires being dedicated to sticking with the plan.
So I'm happy with my accomplishments this week. I'm finishing up week one of my phase 2 running program. Although by the end of it tonight, I was starting to get a bit overwhelmed with how hard it still is (although I've really come a long ways in a short period of time with the running (starting from very beginner)), but towards the last half of my sequence tonight, my mind started to wander to the remainder of the schedule and how quickly things begin to escalate with each workout after this week. But I'm going to take it one workout at a time, and try to take it in little 'bites' rather than looking at the entire 8 week program. Because the 8-week program has got me FREAKED OUT at the moment.
I was reading about beginning swimming endurance programs online tonight -- I think I found a program to try with my 'rest' nights inbetween the running. When I was in high school, I was on the swimteam, but it's been a very very long time since I've done any serious swimming. Thought I ought to start from a beginning program, as I would like to work on building up my lung capacity / efficiency. So, I'm planning on going swimming at my gym tomorrow after my work meeting in the morning. Then I'm going SHOPPING with my Macy's coupon. And THEN I'm getting a massage as a treat for doing awesome with the workouts in April. Yep. It's going to be a real ME-day tomorrow. :-) And hopefully I can actually just go to sleep early tomorrow night, as even though that's been the goal all week -- it doesn't seem to have happened as of yet.
Sunday is kayaking in the morning to mid-afternoon. Woohoo! Maybe I'll remember to bring my camera, as I love kayak photos.
I just realized that my weekends are all booked for the month of May at this point, which is good because I'm doing some cool things -- visiting family, walking a 10k with my mom, taking two kayaking classes, but it's a little crazy because every weekend has things scheduled already, and I've been wanting to do some hiking now that the weather is finally so nice. Well, I'll have to take a look at my upcoming schedule for the next few weeks -- it's going to be a busy month anyway.
Didn't quite get all my fruits and veggies today, but hit my nutrient goals and calorie goals, plus got all my water and got my exercise in.
The sports suds thing will require a separate blog -- so stay tuned. :-)
The terrariums are looking good today -- woohoo!
Plus got most of the laundry done -- which I try to do during the week, so I don't spend my weekends doing chores. It's not always successful -- but I love it when I manage it.
Hope that you have something active and healthy planned for this weekend!
