a Blog to avoid tempation

My children just got some ice cream they are eating it while I type this. I am going to not ask what flavor or go near it. Ice cream was my biggest food when I was at my largest. It was nothing to eat a whole litre every evening after work. I totaly avoid it now. It is 100 per cent a triger food for me. People can tell me to learn moderation however once I have a bite it is like a drug. I want more avoidance is what I need to do some day prehapes I will have what it takes to have one portion however I am not interested in testing my will power tonight. Hope every one has a great day

    Oh man I understand you completely on the icecream. I am in love with everything ben and jerry ever make. I will eat the whole carton with out hesitation then sit and cry for hours because I know I just ate 2,000 calories (seriously 2k)

    What day do you weigh in? just interested on when you get that 100 party you wrote of.
    My weight fluctuates a lot, but I have replaced a lot of my extra fat with muscle by now and lost a couple of pant sizes. I'm happy with my progress, still have some to go though. Keep up the good work! emoticon

    Hope you have a nice time walking and yard sale-ing. It's been cold here (I live in southern Idaho) and barely getting warm now. It's been nice to be able to run outdoors, more motivating.

    It sounds like that soup is not very expensive to make and saves a lot of money and time when you make a big pot like that. What do you freeze it in? Ziplock?

    I am trying to get out of debt right now; the US (and world) economy is pretty scary to me and my husband and I are trying to find ways to save on food. So this sounds like a winner in that area too. Things are expensive in the grocery stores, trying to eat healthily, but last month spent $800 on food (for a family of 4)! Outrageous! So I've got to find more solutions. Breakfasts are pretty inexpensive and soup for lunch (when it is that healthy) would be great for me. The kids probably wouldn't eat it though. Thanks for the recipe.

    Good soup recipe! Have you posted it on sparkpeople? I am interested in it. Did you make it up? It sounds like an eat to live recipe by Dr. Furhman. I'm not sure if I spelled that name right. I have a couple of his books and his recipes are similar to the one you wrote about.

    I am a chocolate hound! It's awful! I am not satisfied with any other snack and I eat it every day. I am an addict, so I understand. I wish I had your will-power! emoticon

    I completely understand. For me, it's pizza. Unless I get a "personal" sized pizza, nothing will stop me from eating and entire (large) pizza BY MY SELF. It's been almost 3 years since I've began my journey, and pizza is STILL an issue. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to eat it in moderation. Good for you, for staying away.

    I feel your pain...I need totally avoid certain foods (mountain dew, frosting, cake (oh how i love cake and frosting))...well the mountain dew isn't completely gone...but I try....and at least for me, it does get easier...I used to eat doritos daily, I mean, I could eat the whole family sized bag within an hour while watching tv...Well I've been having cravings for them, I mean, headache cravings, and I would smell them everywhere...well one day, I bought them, just a small $2 bag...and oh my goodness did they smell amazing, my mouth watered...I thought i was doomed...but i tried it, and it was surprisingly just ok, i mean, they still had an appeal, but they tasted so...manufactured...I don't even think I finished the bag...I mean, I think it was the memories that were so tempting, to have my comfort food back almost put me over the edge, but I've learned so many other ways to comfort myself when stressed...(and yes, I still resort to food, but combat is amazing for stress when you get to pretend to punch your aggressions out...

    Good idea! My children had chocolate the other day. I asked them to eat it somewhere else and to not offer me any. They were good about it and I really appreciate them for it. Out of sight out of mind. Avoidance is good when it comes to unhealthy foods.
