I got to do this for a team I just joined (Spring Into Summer 5% Challenge) and I thought I'd share the info as a blog, too, so Sparkers on other boards can get to know me better, too.
Hi, my name is Alisa and I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest just south of Seattle. I’m new to the 5% challenge and I’m looking forward to being motivated by the challenges (I can be a little competitive).
What do you like to do for fun?
I like to read, surf the net, and spend time with my family and friends winning, er playing, board games.
What diet are you following?
Plant Strong. I went to Farms2Forks earlier this month and I’ve been about 90% vegan for the past year. Trying to cut out processed foods and eat out less. I really need to eat MORE vegetables.
What is your favourite exercise?
Walking and completing challenges with my Striiv pedometer.
I joined a gym in the fall so I could keep moving in the winter. There I do a lot of elliptical and treadmill… I can read or watch tv on both of these. ;)
My sister and I also got a trainer in the fall, but he had to quit a little over a month ago and we’re still trying to find a new one… he definitely helped me get more toned and confident in my abilities.
2 random fun facts about you?
I can be quite competitive and have a one-track mind when it comes to games, challenges and new interests.
I watch a lot of cooking shows, but really don’t know how to cook very well. Planning ahead is my downfall…
Anything else you would like to share?
I’m a single mom of two boys, 14 & 12. We live with my sister and our dog Roxy. My boy’s dad and their half-sister just moved in with us last month until at least the end of the school year. This has pretty much disrupted my life and I’m working to get back on track with my goals. I’m also trying to adjust to the addition of an extravert in a household of introverts. I’m a little concerned about losing 5% because my weight loss has pretty much stalled…
