Sickie report 4.26.13

Friday, April 26, 2013

This time I'm the sick one! We went on two road trips for Spring Break and about a week later I came down with the most terrible cold. It came with lots of stuff in my lungs, but unusually I was able to keep coughing it up rather than all of it staying in my lungs and becoming an infection - which is my normal cold/chest infection route. I also never lost my voice, which is also normal for me. I'm "blaming" the cold on fatigue and "blaming" the lack of pneumonia on my dairy free diet!

However, my 2 year old caught it and we were in the ER with what I thought was asthma, but turned out to be bronchitis. She's a bit better today.

In another weird turn of events, I was I town trying to waste time until an appointment and I had a coupon for McDonalds. So, I got a value meal and gave the two year old some fries, and handed back the baby a few fries. Very soon whe was crying...I thought she wanted more, so I gave her more. This continued until we got out of the car, but even with her pacifier I couldn't get her to settle down. After another 20 minutes of crying we found some apple juice, which she drank for 4 minutes then started crying again.....anyway it ended up being over an HOUR of screaming. I know the fries weren't too hit, so the only thing I can think of is it was too salty...she's had almost no salt in her life, so those fries sent her through the roof....as it really should all of us.

My weight is at 178 or so, one month before baby comes. It is normal to add a pound a week for the last month, but I am going to commit to doing dr. Fuhrman's plan 100 percent for the next month, and hope that any fat baby want can be found in my waist and hips rather than my food :) (Lately I've been slacking on the big lunch salad, eating fewer beans, and too few fruits.) hmmm maybe I'll make a chart to track it.

(Update) baby woke up with a 102 fever, so it wasn't the fries...maybe an ear infection? She cries when the Tylenol wears off. :(
