Sparking & Losing

Friday, April 26, 2013

I have been away from home for over a week. Regardless of where I travel, I relax and feel at home when I have wifi and can Spark. I made a point of taking my scale with me and weigh in daily. With the warmer weather I have some water retention but regardless I know my weight is trending downwards.

Today I hit a milestone on Spark Points; I have now done all the 'Read a Health A-Z topic'. I am thrilled!!! I love Spark and dutifully read these topics but it made me feel a little down. I am glad to be done with them! But now I can be a knowledgeable and sympathetic listener to most hypochrondriacs... too much information sometimes.

Success builds success. I set the bar low and focused on one thing, Nutrition Tracking. I didn't have to stay within my calorie range, I just had to record my food and beverages. When I got the Nutrition Tracking streak going strong, I added the daily walk.

Nutrition Tracking Day Day 40.
Walk - Day 7.

Got to scoot, doing spring cleaning here and looking after my daughter as she heals from surgery. The weather in Las Vegas is nice this time of year.

Some of those articles are more informative and helpful than others... I'm on my 2nd round (been here for a while..) and yes, some of them are very depressing!

You can reset your articles and read those health A to Z articles again and get points for them again. I love them.

Good job with your streaks! We just got to the beach and discovered that we have WiFi! The good thing is that I can log into Spark. The bad thing is that I didn't bring my Fitbit receiver, but that's okay. At least I can track my food!

Keep up the good work. Adding things on a little at a time seems to be the key for you!

Just starting out but I like the thought of setting the bar low--too often I set it high and fail then cycle back. Thanks for the thoughtful post, words I can live by!

When we travel by car, I always take my scale. Would be lost without it. I also bought scales for both homes of my sons (really for me), although, the youngest, who is so into gadgets, now has a wireless scale, connected to the internet, and has his daily weigh-ins automatically recorded on his computer. My next toy!! NOT!
I am happy to hear that you are enjoying the warmer weather. Ours is in the mid-70s today, and is supposed to be in the low 80s, tomorrow. With a cool breeze, perfect golfing weather.
Keep on enjoying your time in L.V. and your walking streak,.
