I didnt realize so much time had passed since my last post, it's really just flying by now. Leo will be one in less than 2 weeks - unbelievable! We ended up settling on a small party at our local park for him. My mom is coming in..that will be drama but at least Leo will have some family there.
Leo is still a pretty shy guy. He likes big groups better than one-on-one attention. Loves being cheered on :) He's doing great with solids. I added some foods back into my diet: things with egg baked into them, things with corn flour in them, and goat milk products. Leo has had a bread that has egg whites as the 5th ingredient in it and been fine, and we will be giving him goat milk yogurt and cheese directly this coming week. Hopefully he does fine (I expect he will). I'd like him to have a diary source he can turn to if I don't end up pumping for a whole additional year. I know hemp milk is the best of the non-dairy alternatives for young children, but dairy really is best because of the types of proteins and fats in it.
He has slept technically through the night (9:30pm - 5am, then had a bottle and slept til 7) once. Now he usually only wakes 2-3 times in an 11 hour stretch. And he has a tooth! One tooth, on the bottom. Teething has been...difficult. We do the amber necklace, tylenol, orajel, cold pacis, etc. It's just very painful for him. Still no crawling, but his favorite activity is to hold onto our fingers and walk around. Everywhere. All. The. Time. It's really hard on my lower back! And he also scoots on his butt to get things he wants. He can stand on his own unsupported, and can cruise on furniture if we put him up to something, but doesn't pull himself up. He has started saying "dada", to my husband's delight.
I strained one of my adductors and had to take a month off of stroller strides, as well as stop my daily long walks with the dog. I'm feeling all squishy again :( I just started back again last Wednesday. And I have a cold right now (first time in 2 years!), but I plan on starting 2-a-days on Wednesdays and Friday next week once I feel better. I'll do stroller strides in the morning, and go to the gym for a little bit in the evening after Leo is asleep. I like going to the gym, and my husband has been working on his new website anyway in the evening, so I won't feel like I'm taking away from "our" time.
We are going on our first plane trip with Leo at the end of June, to Florida to visit family. Any advice you have about flying with a baby is welcome! I have no idea how we'll handle all the STUFF you seem to need with a baby, not to mention the pumping issue. Looking forward to Leo being surrounded by love, though!
