The Plan - Let the games begin!

Friday, April 26, 2013

Ok, so I am prepping for Day 1 tomorrow of the Lyn-Genet Plan. Let me first say emoticon to Tania for giving me a heads-up about this book, and to Mandi for detailing her experiences thus far through her blog! I am looking forward to figuring things out, as I have really gained a lot of weight in the last 4-5 months overall (About 40 lbs). So I am not felling well at all. Hopefully this cleanse with the recommended probiotics and a few other supplements will get my body back to healing AND losing!

I have prepped the Flax Granola - 2 big mistakes already... I bought roasted flax from Trader Joe's instead of regular flax. Ok, so it was pre-roasted for me, but no, I didn't realize it, so I reinvented the wheel and soaked it anyway. emoticon And then, of course, had to re-roast it! Well, ok, so we'll see how that goes. Hopefully in the big fiber picture, it won't be a huge glitch.

Made the Orange oil, which is just lovely! I had a new bottle of an organic olive oil and it was perfect for that.

The Carrot-Ginger soup is not as vile as I had imagined! It's kind of thick, like a puree' and I went light on the fresh ginger, as I never cook with fresh ginger and really don't care for it much. But I upped the cinnamon in hopes of making it taste more like liquid carrot cake. emoticon It doesn't make that much of a leap, but I can get it down.

Still have to make my Coco sauce. I need to head BACK to the store, as I am out of onions. Gah!

Tonight I was going to go out with a bang with a fish fry, but am opting to grill haddock instead. emoticon Back later!

I totally love my new version of the carrot soup. I added the zest of an orange and 1TB of agave. I also add extra water to thin it out more, I can't handle thick soup!

Hi Seven, I started with day 1 on Saturday as well. I was pleased when I weighed myself this morning I was down by 2.8 lbs. I am looking forward to finding out the foods that are reactive to me so that I can eliminate them from my diet,

We should cheer each other on since we started the plan on the same day... I hope your first day went well. Looking forward to hearing about your Day 1. I blogged about my day one and will continue to do so throughout this process.

    Good Luck! :)

I'm not familiar with the plan, but I made the carrot soup without the cinnamon and it was delicious. I added a bit of cilantro and some lime juice.
I've seen this plan mentioned before and will look into it. Good luck and thanks for sharing.

Just a quick fyi about the TJ's roasted flax. A lot depends upon the temp at which they roast the flax. At least, that is how I interpreted what Lyn-Genet and Cindy (Hwang) say on LG's site, fb, and twitter. If you have any problems with not losing during the cleanse (first 3 days), you may need to do swap it out for a different unroasted flaxseed. I can't remember what the temp LG says to use for toasting (not roasting) the flaxseed, but I thought it was something below 300F. I believe she has said that roasted flaxseed from Trader Joe's has been a problem for many of her clients and is therefore not recommended.

    Hope your Plan works smoothly!
