Damn, it's been a long time again. I don't even know where to begin. I've been absent, and I feel a bit lost. Pete was away for week in Vegas for work, and I thought I would be able to catch up on everything on here. It turned out, that the week he was gone was my busiest week at work, and I would fall asleep at 830 every night after our nightly phone calls. Then before I knew it, the week was over, and I didn't log in at all!
The following week Pete was very sick. I think the drastic contrast of the heat from Vegas, and then coming home to cold and snow made him catch the flu. He was gross and sick for a little over a week, and I spent my free time taking care of him. Although, during that time I managed to injure my pinky finger on my right hand at work.
It was an awful injury, and being right handed made it so much worse. I had pinched/bruised it by lifting two gallons of paint at a weird angle when we were busy, and it was swollen up to twice the size. It was all black and blue, and I couldn't make a fist for over a week. Using my hand at work was a bit of a challenge, and the pain from my pinky would sometime travel up my arm to my elbow or to my middle finger. Needless to say, it sucked huge!
I am finally able to make a fist and do things relatively normally now. I've started to work out this week at home, with some light weight, crunches/reverse crunches, mountain climbers, small squats, leg lifts and lower back extensions. I haven't been back to the gym, because my knee was doing this weird clicking sound whenever I walked up the stairs.
I went to see my Dr and she said it's fine, my knee is just finally working it's way back to being normal. YAY! She said that I can start working out slowly, and I can do light cardio on the treadmill, then increase it every week. I need to build the strength back up in my knee..slowly but steadily. So, I'm still way behind in my weight loss, but at least I'm able to get back to it finally. I've had clearance to do things, but it just didn't feel right. I'm so glad my knee is going to be ok.
I've also been having some serious issues with my eyes the last few weeks. They have been itchier than usual this allergy season. They water in the middle of the night, even if my hand lightly brushes them. They are so red and sore all day, that I can't even adjust my glasses without them feeling irritated. My friend told me that I look like I've been stoned for 3 weeks, which is always nice to hear. So, I've finally got some prescription eye drops for the next few months, which are working wonders so far. I love my Dr so much, she is so awesome!
So, I didn't work out last night because I was feeling a bit drained. Then this morning I had a hard time waking up, so I went back to sleep. I woke up to a voicemail from my chiropractor saying that I had missed my appointment! I had slept right through it, and I never do that! I kept on sleeping because I have finally caught Pete's flu, and I feel icky. I took some sinus and cold medicine, and I had a cup of tea, with a piece of blueberry pie. I don't have much of an appetite still, but I'm going to make myself eat some rice and kidney beans my mom had made me.
I can't believe I'm sick again. This whole wackness with the weather in Ontario has made a lot of people sick. It looks like this weekend and next week is finally supposed to be spring-like and stable. I'm hoping to be feeling a lot better by tomorrow morning, because it's supposed to be beautiful weather in the afternoon and I would love to go for a walk in the sun.
