I'm a member of several groups on Facebook that emphasize the power of words. I've just realized that when I drop weight, I indicate that I've "lost it". It just occurred to me that saying you lost something implies that you are looking for it. LOL Well, I'm down another 2 pounds and I don't want to find it again.
I'm down 16 pounds now, and haven't changed my activity level, at all. I know that's a mistake, but I'm a couch potato. I can make up so many excuses not to get out there and move.
It's nice wearing the clothes again that I had put in the back of my closet. Jeans that (before SparkPeople) I couldn't pull up over my thighs. Yes, I've compromised about the kinds of foods I eat.. But I'm lucky in that I'm not craving the sugar and starches any more. And now, when I'm getting that urge for a cold beer, I consider how many calories I've consumed that day. Do I really want to drink that many empty calories? Maybe an orange would be better.
