WOW….since the last time I was truly active on the site, a LOT of things have changed in my life.
For starters, I am now married, a homeowner, and finishing up my second year of graduate school (only a year to go!).
A lot of things have also changed when it comes to my body. I am truly at the highest weight I have ever been in my life at this point. I am out of control. I got married in January – you’d think that would be motivation to lose weight…instead, I gained weight before the big day...and continue to put the pounds on. Graduate school has really changed my routine in a negative way. I am constantly eating fast food on the go, coming home late wound up, and getting barely enough sleep. I am also stressed out a lot because of school and feeling like I don’t have enough time in the day to get things done since school takes up such a large portion of my time and I of course work full time. My clothes don’t fit, I feel exhausted and sluggish ALL of the time, and I feel like I have no motivation to do anything. This is not how I should be feeling at 27 years old.
I am back at Spark again because it had such a positive impact on my life when I lost a lot of weight a few years ago. It’s hard to believe I’ve been a member for 3 years! I met one of my closest friends on this site (JACKIMOON), I felt like I was working on a better me.
I’ve done this so many times so I don’t want to get super in depth here, but I have started using the SparkCoach program. Today, I am happy to say that I actually achieved 2 of my fast break goals last night – I ate 2 salads and I got 8 hours of sleep. It is not realistic for me to say that I will get up at 5am, go to the gym for an hour, work all day, come home and do homework, and get enough sleep. That just isn’t practical for my lifestyle at this stage of the game. Instead, right now I am going to focus on making small changes.
My long term goal is to look great for my upcoming graduation in spring 2014, and my husband and I are currently planning on doing some kind of vacation to celebrate (Puerto Rico, maybe?). My short term goals are to look great for our summer vacation to Myrtle Beach in August, and our anniversary trip in January 2014 to Disney.
I will be weighing myself tomorrow morning so I can start fresh with the program
Things I am going to work on:
• Getting 8 hours of sleep
• Eating more fruits/veggies
• Getting just 10 minutes of exercise per day
I think I can handle this. Before, I always jumped into the program and started working out 5 days a week, significantly cutting calories, etc. I just can’t do that at this stage of the game.
So, to my old Sparkfriends, I am here to support you and hope you will support me again.
