Remember in the movie The Wizard of Oz when the 4 travelers were asking the Wizard to grant their wishes? And Glinda, the Good Witch, told Dorothy that she had always had the ability to get home because of the Red Shoes? The Scarecrow demanded to know why no one had told Dorothy before, and Glinda replied that Dorothy wouldn't have believed her, that she had to learn a few things first.
What a wonderful parable! What have we learned? We all have, right now, all the knowledge required to get to the weight we want, but until we BELIEVE that we can do it, we'll just go wandering about Oz. We aren't victims of the food-industrial complex. We are victims of our own unwillingness to believe that each and every thing we do will get us there or prevent us from doing it. We don't have to continue dealing with flying monkeys or wicked witches or evil trees. Just like for Dorothy, our heart's desire is right here in our own backyard, ours for the taking. Or, rather, the doing.
Maybe if we all wore red shoes?
