admission time

i. slipped. up.

there. admitted it. life has been amazingly busy the past few months, and more so the past two weeks; we left molokai after three months there, briefly returned home before turning around and heading to sweden for a conference.

in molokai we walked and walked - running fell by the wayside. my one year anniversary of "being serious" with spark people came and went, which was fine. once we finally had a car there, our miles reduced from 60-70 miles of walking per week to 50-60 miles. which should have been enough. but already then, the weight started creeping, though not too badly.

but with this two week travel period - uh boy. when we left i was on the upper end of my maintenance weight and now we are home after a weekend of conference food followed by a 3-day stay with relatives. i managed to stay vegan through the conference, but totally gave up while staying with the relatives. and ate things i haven't eaten in years. and yes, i know that travel itself puts on pounds that are mainly water retention. but we came home, and i reverted to bad habits almost immediately - snacking while dinner was cooking, and then forcing myself to eat dinner when i'd really had enough already.

ok. new day. new plan.
today we will get back on track with running.
today we will get back to 15,000 steps.
today i will get back on track with tracking what i eat.
today i will NOT snack while cooking - unless it is veggies.
today i will eat clean plant-based food.

today i will begin again.

We all go through periods when we slip up..for awhile. It is especially hard with traveling and eating with relatives! You sound strong and ready to get back on track. Be compassionate to yourself. This is part of maintenance. You will soon start losing again. You can do it. Hugs.

I'm glad to "see" you again. I wondered where you disappeared to. Smart to get back to the plan before things get out of hand.

Slips aren't a problem when you get back up and keep going. Slips are a problem when you give up, which it doesn't sound like you are ready to! You can do it!

The trick to life-long success is, as you know, getting back to what works after a "slip up" as soon as you can. You're there now. Nothing. can. stop. YOU! Because you're worth it! Spark on.
