Of Lobbying and Getting Nuked

Lots of interesting experiences today.
I had the opportunity to go to our State capital and lobby legislators to support a cause near and dear to my heart, services for my homeless students. It was a very good learning experience and I got to meet some great people and (hopefully) helped make a difference in the lives of my kiddos.
After meeting with people, we went to lunch at a nice restaurant where I ordered a fish stew and a caesar salad without croutons (as I must live gluten free) and dressing on the side. The food was fabulous and we were all enjoying our meals until I heard a crunching sound as I stabbed into the bottom of the salad after I had eaten about half of it. When I examined it closer, it was, indeed, a crouton. Needless to say, I was done with my meal and headed for my meds.
Fortunately, I was able to make it home from the journey before anything "bad" happened. If you are sensitive to gluten, you know what I mean.
