Friday, April 26, 2013 I am stomping on a scorpion..which was under the lamb that could"t stand..I am thinking...the toe is nearly worn off this shoe...uneasy feeling. Managed to get that bit of unplesantnee out of the way and picked the lamb up. He ate well as did the other two. The lamb originally down with this complaint is doing well..even bounced up with a classic lamb skip this morning on the lawn. Hughey is just weak and unable to stand but does move a bit and talks a little when hungry.. I put them all out on grass and in the sunshine this morning.
I managed my food intake well til evening...ate the last of the ice cream and some really tastey bread and butter...probably good I will be at work tommorro. Horseshow this weekend so further busyness.

Get some new shoes. My first trip to Texas, other than on the beach as newly walking at 1, was at fish camp at TAMU. Walking along in sandals, with a guy that was later my boyfriend, a nifty insect ran across my foot. He screamed, "Are you okay?" Sure. "Do you know what that was?" "Some insect thing." "No, that was a scorpion". I thought I'd learned to be more careful, but another time, playing frisbee, (the forgotten lesson), I was barefoot. I come from where we have civilized ants, unless they are termites (the lil winged guys). I go running for the frisbee, and run through this dust in the middle of the grass. A patch of about 2 ft wide and about 5 feet long. Covered to my shins in fire ants. I hated even the smell of beer before that. But it was the only thing the guys had in the cooler at the lake. I quickly acquired a taste for Lone Star Long necks! (When the temp hadn't gotten below 103 for over 30 days at that point) Sorry, I digress.

Did I mention I love armadillos? LOL

So glad the lambs are doing better!
