I've been meaning to gather up a few of my favorite weekly foods, and share them....:::finally got around to it. I don't know about you, but every tasty food tip helps when you are focused on "Eating to live, & not Living to eat".
I hope my ideas can be helpful to you.
I LOVE 0% Fage ( greek yogurt )...it works for me in several ways.
1::.... I enjoy this yogurt topped with fresh fruit and a dab of honey over top.
2::... I use it as a baked potato topping ( instead of sour cream ) ...less calories!
3::... I use it instead of sour cream for a veggie dip...::which brings me to my next fav food.
I LOVE 'That Green Sauce"...only 50 cals/per serving ( 2 TB )...::a little goes a long way.
Warning: This is a Texas spicy sauce.
1::... I add 1 serving to 1/4 cup yogurt with a dash of cumin and garlic powder to make a light and spicy veggie dip.
2::... I add just a touch to scrambled eggs.
3::... I add a touch to just about anything such as: fajitas, meatloaf, a sandwich, hamburger...etc. It takes the place of fattening mayo & other high calorie condiments.
I LOVE oats - period! In fact I eat them every morning. They provide a nice portion of my daily fiber, and always give me a nice feeling of being "full".
"Laura's Breakfast Oats"
1/2 cup oats
1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/2 cup low fat plain yogurt
1/4 cup 1% or 2% milk or whatever you use ( ie. almond,rice or coconut milk )
dash of cinnamon
dash of Truvia
6-8 medium-sized strawberries .....::::Yum!
I LOVE salads! ...::::too many different ways to create delicious salads - so I refer you to a creative link: The more unusual, the better!
I LOVE eggs!...::but now I eat them with spinach ( my crazy tasty idea of insuring that I eat enough greens in a day. Lol.) Fresh spinach is best, but frozen will do.
I'm always trying out new ways of adding veggies in places you wouldn't expect to see a veggie.
Last but not least, I LOVE a hot cup of tea...::my favorite time of day, is tea time.
