REQUIRED BLOG FOR TEAM CHALLENGE WEEK 3

Thursday, April 25, 2013

I am so fortunate to have given myself the gift of this site and all of you out there.

Everyone suggested moderation on the 3 mini goals proposed last week:

1. no sugar/carbs
2. exercising excessively
3. Measuring/Weighing everything put in mouth.

Well it was overwhelming and I moved toward moderation and its less stressful. Upside a few lbs lost and fighting to keep them off each minute of each day.

This week I want to add add something that will help the 3 above goals. I need to do something for the frustration and despair creeping into my inner self talk since life is really handing me some curve balls and depression/paralysis sets in quickly.

I have decided to act on the loving suggestion of a Spark Sister who reached out to me and lifted me with words, right for my tough spot:

"FOCUS ON WHAT I DO HAVE, AND CAN DO,NOT ON WHAT I DON'T HAVE,AND CAN'T DO"

I think I will meditate on these words since I heard in a wonderful podcost that, "When you are alligned internally the Universe bows to your intent".

I will let you all know how I do....Have a wonderful day..

    Yvonne,
Did you set goals for this past week or were those the ones you talked about in your blog? I don't always set goals each week. I do try to eat moderately at all meals and snacks, so I guess that is an ongoing goal. I try to get 10 minutes of exercise a day. Better to get more, but at least 10 is better than none. I do like the saying you received from a Spark Sister. Good to remember!

Just want to echo what IKACEY said!

Can you reframe the goals somehow so they work for you, and still fit the spirit of your challenge?

Along the lines of:
1) Appropriate amount of sugar/carbs
2) Appropriate amount of exercise (according to your current ability and recent habits)
3) Eating within calorie range

emoticon on your thinking about modifying the very strict mini goals. They seem like major goals with major struggling and stressing to reach them. And a little unhealthy as we need some carbs to be healthy without them we have no fuel for the body to keep burning and it shuts down on weight loss as it actually stores fat because it thinks you are starving. Exercising excessively can also cause injury and give your body no time to rebuild the minor breakdowns of muscles caused as you workout. Everyone needs to not push past the point of exhaustion and pain and give themselves rest days. While it is good to measure and weigh everything you eat you can become obsessive about it and go overboard. It sounds like these goals would cause more hurt than help and need to indeed be moderated and restated to include healthier goals like only so much percentage of carbs of the calories that are your daily goal, or increasing your exercise goal for the week to whatever increase you need. Some can increase only in small amounts and others can go for the big leaps safely. Your loving spark sister gave you good advice and you are intelligent to take it. emoticon If a challenge is bringing you down and depressing you like this maybe its not time for that challenge yet and you should step off of it. You know best what you can handle and what works for you and don't let anyone save God tell you you HAVE to do something This Way!! emoticon

Great reminder toward positive action rather than a mindset of limitation and regrets.
