Some days I feel skinnier than others

Thursday, April 25, 2013

Today was one of those days where everything fit right and it all looked a little loose. Yesterday, not so much. I didn't actually step on the scale, so I'm not sure if the number changed, but if it did, I doubt it was that much.

The scale number is only one thing that can help you figure out what's going on. It is but one variable in your body's changes. Other ways to figure out that it's changing is to measure with a tailor's tape, try on a smaller pair of pants or a smaller shirt, find out that your bra is too big and you need a smaller one (Yes, this only works for the ladies, but I'm still putting it in here), see that your hair or nails are getting stronger, noticing the acne is not as bad, or seeing that your skin looks fresher.

Perhaps today's feeling came with an appropriate amount of sleep for me. The sun was shining and when it wakes me up, I just feel better. It's easier to wake up to the sun shining, and it will be earlier each day until mid-summer.

I also threw on my jeans from yesterday and put on the black and white striped shirt (see photo gallery) and it was a little looser than it used to be. So today I'm feeling a little sassy too!

Perhaps the Oreos finally made their way through and I'm back to normal. There is a lot of salt in processed foods, so that ton possibly left my system.

No matter what the reason is, I'm enjoying today's skinny feeling and won't let anything get me down. It's amazing how so little can make one's feeling so different! emoticon

Today's holidays: Take Your Child to Work Day, National Telephone Day and National Zucchini Bread Day. So show your child what you do at work while showing the the corded telephone you use there while feeding them zucchini bread (which, I find, tastes similar to banana read).

Speaking of children, I told some 2nd graders that youtube didn't exist 10 years ago. They had a hard time wrapping their minds around that. What was it called before? Nothing, it didn't exist!

    You are looking great!

Even with my 27-year-old daughter there are times I have to remind her that things happened back before we could just call on the cell phone.

emoticon My kids are amazed I worked on a bookkeeping computer over 30 years ago the size of an organ and the computer I had for a math class in 1974 only took punch cards. My how things have changed. Good for you having your clothes loosen up. Keep up the good work! emoticon

Yeah for skinnier days. I'm sure glad others have that feeling too. Many reasons can make us feel heavier, I hate those days, especially since I know I haven't been doing much difference that other days. Your probabely right salt in processed foods add up quickly, and I do eat those some days---especially days that hubby is working afternoons, and I don't want to cook for just me.
Children do have trouble realizing all they have with computers, I-Pods etc. were not around for very long. Some day what they have now will also be relics to future generations.

YAY for skinny feeling days! You've earned them with all of your efforts. And with sunnier days, happier wake-up calls, you will find even more reasons to get out and move and your clothes will be even looser still. Wahoooo!

I agree... Some days I feel HUGE even if the number didn't change... other days I feel fit and wonderful. You just need to roll with the punches... Enjoy your awesome day!

It's weird how your body can change from day to day, even if only in your mind, completely independent from the scale.

As to clothes fitting, I find my waistbands get loose while I am doing work like cleaning, moving things... I guess the muscles tighten up. And I agree salt really causes water bloat!
