should I even be on here?

Wednesday, April 24, 2013

The only thing I've done successfully is switch to diet pop, and I still want regular pop. I don't exercise. I don't cook. I'm frustrated and sad.

You can do this. It's the little steps. Changing sodas is a big step. Next try cutting out one of those sodas in exchange for water. When your with your kids get them involved if you can. Maybe it means going for a walk with them in a stoller, or extra running around the yard. You can do this, there are tons of people on here who started off the same way, so you aren't alone. Everyone here has great advice and ideas.

Don't expect yourself to change everything at once; changing to diet soda is a big and important step. Try congratulating yourself on the small things like having a glass of water before you reach for a soda, walking for a few minutes more than the day before, or having one more serving of fresh fruit/veg. than the day before. Little changes will add up and if you recognise and celebrate each one you will feel better about them.

Good luck!

Girl, you are definitely at the right place! Everyone here is sooo supportive and helpful. I know you can do it. I have been on here since 2009 and lost a decent amount when I became involved with it but I didn't really lose noticeable weight until I went on Medifast where I eat every two and a half hours all day long. A lot of people say it's too expensive but my goodness! Feeling twenty five years younger and twenty five years prettier is worth it to me. Not saying you would have to go that route, just saying it really sunk in for me when my sister said "I just came to the conclusion there was no way to do it by myself." I didn't try it, but you could try eating regular grocery store stuff at about the same calorie range as Medifast every two and a half hours thru the day? Part of what makes it work is keeping your metabolism going. Good luck! I know you can do it!

Of course you should be here!! It's about making small changes you can stick with. I recently read an article about this woman who couldn't make the food and exercise changes all at once. So, she focused on just one of them for a year before adding the other one. Perhaps you need to focus on your eating habits for now and worry about the exercise later...just a thought.

Well the way I look at it is this: what's the alternative? You can continue with what you were doing before and see where that gets you. Or, you can be here. You can make small changes. Small changes add up. You can do this!

Well, I have 2 kids under three. My husband works 60 hours a week. I work 36 hours a week at night so I can be with my kids.

I know for a lot of people, maybe you, stopping drinking regular soda is really tough! Good for you for making a change.

What is getting in your way of making some of the other changes you want to make? You can do this!
