So as I am doing dishes tonight, I am also listening to a local country radio station. Usually when the deejay starts talking, I don't really pay attention, but something he said tonight caught my attention, and really made me angry!

He starts talking about Kelly Clarkson, and says "Now there is a girl with some weight issues! She can go from a size 8 to a 16, and she just seems to yo-yo between the two. You never know what she is going to look like."

OK, please tell me what her weight has anything to do with. Does it affect her singing? No! Why is our society so hung up on weight? Why is that we are instantly judged based upon our appearance? Why can't people just accepts that beauty comes in all different shapes, sizes and colors? I am raising two girls, and all they see on TV, in magazines, on billboards, etc. is that you have to be a certain size to be beautiful. And it is shoved down their throats so often, that me telling them how beautiful they are really doesn't affect them. It makes me so sad.

Alright, that is my rant for the night. I feel better to have it off my chest! God night, all my beautiful friends!

I think Kelly Clarkson is beautiful no matter what her size. She seems to glow from the inside out!!

It is very true. Sad, but true. Young girls have a lot to "try" to live up to these days. There's enough pressures out there without adding this silliness to it.

Nice rant! It's so true.... and so sad that girls will hear stuff like that and internalize it to themselves too :(
