Reading your horoscope can change your week for the better...

I live in a country town in western Victoria, Australia, and like most other towns, each week the local free paper arrives in our mailboxes. The paper contains mostly advertisements (which is why it's free), and some local news and updates. I very seldom read it, but today I was eating breakfast and started glancing through it. One thing took my attention - the section called 'Your Lucky Stars', by well known Australian astrologer Kerry Kulkens. I decided to check my 'stars' out.
This was the forecast for Libra (my star sign) for the coming week -"Socializing is all the go at the moment. Make sure to keep a clear head when driving! This period will probably go off with a real bang for you - in more ways than one. However, be careful when travelling."
So, according to my forecast, I am meant to be involved in an accident whilst driving my car. I've only read these things for their amusement value, but then I started thinking about the number of my fellow Librans who take these forecasts seriously and would be 100% convinced they should leave their car at home and either walk or take public transport for the week, the amount of extra exercise they would get as a result. I started thinking about how I would cope if I left my car home for a week, what it would involve to walk everywhere here in town...
In my status yesterday, I wrote that for the second week in a row, I had remained at the same weight, no loss but no gain, and how it was a not so gentle reminder that I needed to get regular exercise of some sort. So, as of this moment, I will not take my car out of the carport until Thursday of next week, unless it is absolutely necessary. I will walk everywhere, and I will continue to take my dogs for their daily walk.
I'll be interested to see if this 'enforced' exercise makes any difference when next I weigh in.
